Frequently asked questions

How is GPA calculated?

Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points, add them all up and divide by the total credit hours.

How is CGPA different from GPA?

GPA covers one semester. CGPA covers all semesters together, weighted by credit hours.

Which grading scale should I use?

Use the scale printed on your transcript or in your university handbook. Grade points differ between universities, so Custom lets you enter exactly the values your university uses.

Are my grades saved or shared?

No. The calculation happens in your browser and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

Does a failed course count?

Yes, in most systems an F counts as 0 grade points and its credit hours are included. Some universities replace a grade when a course is repeated, so check your own rules.
